Why get involved
As Open Farm Sunday is a great opportunity to get consumers out onto farms to discover where their food comes from, meet the farmers who produce it and find out about the vital role you have in producing safe affordable food whilst caring for the environment.
80% of farmers who took part last year reported real business benefits including: increased sales; better community relations; raised local profile; building staff morale, and gaining new contacts.
LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming), the organisers of Open Farm Sunday, invite you to benefit too and open your gates to the public on the 17th June 2012.
Just as every farm is unique, no one event will be the same. Events range from a guided farm walk through to open days with lots of activities such as tractor trailer rides, farmers markets, activities for children and much more! It is up to you how large or small your event is.
This website has lots of useful ideas, guidance and top tips to help you organise a safe, engaging and memorable event for your visitors.
Register - First you will need to register your event.
Order your resources – Once registered you will be able to order your FREE resources which include banners, posters, flyers, polo shirt, handouts for your guests and lots more.
Book onto a workshop – our FREE workshops continue with another series of events across the country from 1st to 15th May.
Help in the regions - If you want to talk to someone about your event, give your Regional Co-ordinator a call.
The theme for 2012 is ‘Discover life on our farms’. We hope you take up the challenge and discover how your farm can benefit too.
Thank you.
From everyone at LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming)
