Why get involved
If you want to improve sales, learn new marketing skills, build staff morale and sense of pride, gain new contacts, or simply just want to improve your neighbours and friends understanding of why farming matters … then we invite you to get involved with LEAF's Open Farm Sunday which in 2012 will be the weekend of Sunday 17th June.
The overall objective of Open Farm Sunday is to provide everyone with an opportunity to visit a farm and learn about the story behind their food and its link with nature.
Just as every farm is unique, no one event will be the same. Events range from a guided farm walk through to ‘open days’ with lots of activities such as tractor and trailer rides, farmers markets, activities for children and much more! Its up to you to how large or small your event is.
The theme for Open Farm Sunday 2012 will be “Discover life on Britain's farms”. This website has lots of useful ideas, guidance and tops tips to help you organise a really fun and memorable day for your guests.
We ask all farms that wish to open as part of Open Farm Sunday to register - the registration section of this website will go live in January 2012. All registered host farmers will be able to order a FREE resource pack and merchandise.
